I wanted to take a moment to welcome **everyone** to The Cozy Mystery Book Club. I want this book club to be a welcoming space where everyone feels included, seen, and heard. Regardless of gender, sex, race, ethnicity, and or religion, books are for everyone. If you want to read and discuss cozy mysteries, this is the place for you.
When it comes to book club discussions, I stay away from heavy topics. I lived in D.C. for almost ten years. For my first master’s degree, one of my advisers was a political scientist. I took four of her classes. My thesis was on political film adaptations. I have a lot of thoughts and opinions. It’s simply that the book club is a space to focus on positives, diving into cozy mysteries. When the world becomes a hard place, we all need to have something that makes us smile. A place to go that’s always positive. Regardless of what’s going on around us, there is a safe, happy, and inclusive space to visit. Something separate. For me, that’s cozy mysteries. Puns. Animals. Baking. Libraries. Small Towns. Holidays. Flowers. The focus is solving a fictional murder 🔎
There are more LGBTQIA+ characters and stories being published. More diverse reads are being highlighted. Personally, I look forward to reading them. For 2026, I intend on having one of our months be dedicated to an LGBTQIA+ title. For 2024 and 2025, we’ve had a month dedicated to diverse voices. I will continue this into 2026.
The Cozy Mystery Book Club will always be free to join. Money will never prevent anyone from participating and sleuthing. The YouTube livestreams are available post-airing, then become podcasts. There are no requirements to becoming a member. If you want to join, you are a part of the club. All I ask is that everyone is respectful during conversations…and that you’ve read the monthly cozy mystery 🥰
Thank you for reading + Being a part of the bookish family!
